STEP 1: GET THE BOARD GAMES Each certification participant will get the complete package with course materials and the full set of board games prior to the first day of certification. STEP 2: MASTER CONTENT – Day 1, Jan 13, 9:00-17:00 GMT, lunch break 13:00-14:00 During the first day of the certification, you will explore and practice the key concepts and micro-skills behind the Savannah Board Games – in a facilitated, highly experiential and practical manner. 2 communication models - The “Jackal” and the “Giraffe” (and the neuroscience behind it) The BIG MAD anti-model of Jackal Communication • The 5 categories of toxic emotional reactions: Blackmail, Imperative, Guilt, Menace, Ad-hominem and Dominance • Calming one’s internal Jackal The Giraffe micro skills of emotionally intelligent communication • The distinction between judgment and observation, language patterns that trigger interpretations (generalizations, catastrophism, predictions); how to start conversations from Observations – internal giraffe • How to ask questions that trigger Observations – External Giraffe Skills • How to express emotions and acknowledge the other’s emotions – do’s and don’ts (emotional labeling, the wheel of emotions, validation techniques) • How to connect emotions and needs (understanding the why behind emotions, labelling needs) • How to ask for action in a way that gets action – do’s and don’ts (specificity versus vagueness, magic language versus tragic language, integrating the feedback loop) STEP 3 – MASTER THE GAMES – Day 2, Jan 14, 9:00-17:00 GMT, lunch break 13:00-14:00 Participants will get to play the 3 games and go through the Facilitator’s Guide. STEP 4 – COACHING SESSION FOR EACH TRAINER Each trainer benefits from a 1.5-hour coaching session with the Master Trainer, during which they can explore: - Preparing to deliver the session - Debriefing the session post delivery - Clarifying dilemmas, challenges, ways of adapting the program to a specific organization or group STEP 5 – EXTRA PERK: YOUR VIRTUAL ASSISTANT Each trainer can also access the virtual assistant SAVANNAH AI.
